7th to 11th March

The dominating activity this week has been our visit to Southwell Minster for the Time Travelling event. We had a great day there on Thursday, with each of our groups taking part in six different activities. These included finding out about some of aspects of Christian practice (including communion and prayer), finding out about the building (by looking at the architecture, the stained glass windows and the decorative carvings) and learning about the work of choristers and clothing of  priests.

Today, we followed up our visit by creating a scrapbook recording some of the things we learned and our reflections about our time at the minster.

Earlier in the week, in English we did some more report writing about the river at different stages in its "life" while, in maths, we did some more work on the properties of 3D shapes before moving on the thinking about negative numbers.

Another major piece of work this week was our science afternoon when we investigated factors which may affect the speed in which salt dissolves in water. We designed our own experiments, carried them out and wrote brief notes to record the results.
