1st to 6th March
Our English this week has been closely linked with our geography work on rivers. We have been making notes from text and video before writing our own report about the life of a river. So far, we have covered the source and the upper course of the river. In addition, we did some comprehension work and, on Friday, celebrated World Book Day.
In maths, our focus has been work on £D shape and some more on angles. We have learned and revised knowledge related to the properties of 3D shapes, including prisms and pyramids, including revising the names of different shapes. We have also learned how to measure and draw reflex angles.
Our main science activity was an experiment to investigate the insulating properties of materials by recording the temperature of hot water as it cooled in cups made out of different materials. We also discussed other kinds of properties of materials and related these to the uses of these materials.
In addition, we had our weekly Spanish lesson, PE and continued with our "Scratch" programming work.
