27th April to 1st May
We have continued with our English work on persuasive writing this week after doing some comprehension and reading skills on Monday. We have moved on from direct advertising to writing arguments. After annotating an argument text, highlighting the features of this sort of text, we have focussed on constructing good paragraphs and planning this kind of writing.
After revising formal written methods of computing multiplication and division sums, the most of the week has concentrated on drawing and interpreting line graphs in our maths lessons. We also did some work on angles on Friday, calculating the missing angle using our knowledge of angles on a straight line and angles about a point.
In history, we learned about the lives of women in ancient Greece and compared the lives of rich and poor women in that civilisation while, in geography, we thought more about forestry in the Lake District.
