17th to 21st November
This week, we
have continued with our English unit on story writing. We have focussed on
building up characters and settings through the story. We considered different
aspects of a character (appearance, behaviour, manner of speech, for example)
and made notes about this. We then incorporated some of these ideas, where
appropriate at different points of the build-up of the story.
Our maths has
focussed on understanding fractions, decimals and percentages. We have found
fractions and percentages of quantities and shapes and have done considerable
work trying to identify and understand equivalent fractions and to relate
fractions and division and relate fractions and percentages.
We threaded
up our weaving frames and started an RE topic about how artists show their
beliefs. We examined, discussed and jotted down notes about three artists'
impressions of the annunciation. Having learned about some of the symbolism and
imagery, we created our pictures including angels, and wrote descriptions of
these indicating the meaning the picture convey.
