1st to 12th July
We have had a number of special activities in these past two weeks:
We had our school team sports afternoon on an afternoon of perfect weather - it was warm, dry and sunny, but just hazy enough to ensure that sunburn was not a great risk. Our class, and the parallel Year 5 class had an excellent day at Carlton Academy when we went there for the Year 5 Arts' Day with year 5 pupils from other family schools. We have also had our Summer Music Concert at school, with lots of excellent performances from our instrumentalists and choirs.
In class, we have finished our English unit of work based on Grandpa Chatterji by undertaking a study of how the character of Grandpa Leicester changed through the story. Our maths work has concentrated on patterns and sequences of numbers, writing rules and using simple algebra. We have also completed our geography topic about the Lake District by holding a "Planning Authority Meeting" in which we took different roles to consider a proposal to build at new Water Sports Centre on one of the lakes.
