17th to 21st December
In our last week, we have had our Christmas Party (on Wednesday with Year 6) and our Christmas Carol Service with the rest of the school. (The special Year 5 item was our Animal Carol poem, and we joined in with all the singing.)
On Monday and Tuesday, we continued with some of our English and maths work, writing concrete poems (and illustrating them) on the computer and revising mental and written methods of calculating answers to addition and subtraction sums.
Through the week we also worked to finish off our woven panels, if not already completed, and then removed these from the frames, tied the warp threads and ensured that they were finished off tidily before they were fixed onto card to create Christmas cards. We also did some other craft work, making 3D pictures to be the illustration for calendars and also creating origami place-settings for the Christmas dinner table.
We are now on our school Christmas holiday.
School re-opens on 7th January 2013.
