18th to 21st June

This has been a short week as Friday was an INSET Day for the teachers.

We have started a new unit of work in English which is about scripts for radio programmes or presentations. We began by looking back at what we already know about scripts from studying play scripts in previous years. Our main work in maths was learning how to measure and draw angles using a protractor.

We have had a couple of music lessons this week. One was a practical session in which we had to work in groups to create, practice and perform rhythmical pieces using percussion instruments. In our other lesson, we were thinking about our responses to different pieces of music and ways of describing music.

We had a special history day on Wednesday when we played the "government game". Through a series of simulations, we explored the ways in which decisions and laws were made in ancient Greece under three systems of government - monarchy, oligarchy and democracy.

We also had time to think about healthy lifestyles in PHSCE work.
