4th to 6th January
Happy new year to everyone!
We have had a short week at school to start off our new term.
In English, we did some comprehension work on Wednesday on a text which presented a modern version of the Snow White story. We talked about pantomimes and fairy stories, recalling the plot of the traditional Snow White tale and then read and reflected on the modern version which had interesting similarities and differences. Our maths work has concentrated on addition and subtraction calculations and we have used mental, written and calculator methods.
We have had a couple of science lessons to start off our topic on Light and how we see things. We have thought about light sources and started investigating how light travels by experimenting with mirrors (plane and curved) and lenses.
We did PE, having an exercise workout and a coordination activity, and today we started an art topic on journeys which will link with our RE work and History/English work on The Odyssey later in the term.
