12th to 16th June

We have had a big focus on geography this week.

The area of study is the Lake District. After watching a video introducing the region, we have thought about farming in the area, reflecting on the type of farming that takes place and who this affects and is affected by the landscape as well as changes that have taken place in that industry. Then we moved on to consider the tourist industry and how tourists affect the area.

In maths we have undertaken a series of maths investigations related to shape. These have included pentominoes and dice investigations and activities involving visualising three dimensional shapes.
