26th to 30th April

We have continued our English work on stories from other cultures. We finished reading the novel Grandpa Chatterji and studied an episode from the sequel in which the family visit Grandpa in India. We used this for a comprehension exercise focusing on cultural differences. In maths our work has looked at decimal numbers (involving ordering and sequencing the numbers) and also problem solving. We also looked at ways of checking answers to calculations we have done on the calculator - including repeating the calculation, using inverse operations and making approximations.

In history we looked briefly at the work of craftsmen in ancient Greece and, on Wednesday, we played a simulation game to help us understand about government in the city states, including monarchy, oligarchy and democracy.

We have begun our summer technology project this week. The involves investigating, designing and making automota. We have started by looking at some automota, drawing and making notes about them.
