23rd to 25th September
In maths, we have moved on to a new unit which involves data handling work. We have revised ideas about tallying and creating bar charts and learned about the mode so that we can find the mode of a set of data. We have done a series of little maths experiments to produce some data and used these data sets to produce properly labelled graphs and find the mode - today this involved a board game and balancing centimetre cubes on our hands!
We have made further progress in our Rivers and Water topic by answering questions about how water is treated before it comes to our homes and some of us have moved on to find out about how sewage is treated.
Having spent a little more time on the punctuation of speech and learned about the use of adverbs and the job(s) that adverbs do in sentences, we have made a start to our new English unit of work which is about report writing.
In addition to this, we have had another go with our tin whistles, had PE (a boules-type game) and done some painting - producing multi-coloured graded washes.
