17th and 18th September

We did some more work on our story openings in English yesterday, ensuring that we had all written an action opening, a descriptive opening and a speech/dialogue opening to Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Today we focused more specifically on writing good sentences - thinking about adding details to sentences to help give the reader a good, clear picture of what we are writing about.

In maths we have kept revisiting the new learning of mental maths skills and we have also done some activities based on tables knowledge.

We have had the first of our spelling tests and times tables tests which we will usually do on a weekly basis and we also set up our individual targets today.

In addition, over the last two days we have done some music (a first lesson in playing the tin whistle), PE (in which we played bench-ball - a netball type activity) and art (sketching activities).
