14th September

We started off the week with some ICT in connection with our work on Water. We looked at the WaterAid website to think about the problems of people in less developed countries who do not have an easy supply of clean water. Then we played a game on the site which required us to make and explain decisions that the local community could make which may help them to obtain a reliable supply of cleam water.

We read an episode from a story (The Shrinking of Treehorn) in English and then began a comprehension exercise based on this passage while, in maths, we started some work on negative numbers.

We finished the day with hearing some more of The Iron Man but, before this, we had our first music lesson of the year. We listened to and repeated some rhythms and then tried some based on African rhythmic patterns. These involve spoken words as well as beating out a rhythm are some were quite difficult.
