13th to 21st July

We have had a typically busy end to the term. Some of us have made final visits to our new secondary schools and weh have finished off the work for the year. The main pieces of work we had to complete were the English work based on and our Kenuke's Kingdom and our Fairground Rides technology project.

We finished reading the Kensuke's Kingdom novel and wrote up the writing we had drafted about the "jellyfish incident" written from Kensuke's point of view. We made this look really good by writing it on A3 paper and covering this with an illustration to create background to the writing. We made our work up in to folders to send to our secondary schools where we will be doing some follow-up work next term.

Having finished the fairground rides, we used motors to make them work and videoed these. Then we used MovieMaker to produce a short film of our rides which also included still images of other groups' rides and the components we used etc. The choir had performed a song called Roller Ghoster in our end-of-term music concert and we used a recording of this as our backing track for the video.

We spent some time sorting out our work from the year. We made special folders of our best work as a "portfolio" for us to keep (including work from throughout our time at the junior school), but we also took most of our other work home as well. On the final day many of us took photos of our friends and people gave us their autographs too.

On the last afternoon, we had a special assembly to say goodbye.

Term has now finished. School is closed for the summer holidays and is due to re-open on 3rd September.
