7th to 11th July
This has been another "different" and exciting week with as series of special activities.
On Wednesday we went to the theatre to see a production of Treasure Island. This was very well done and we enjoyed the afternoon. The set was very good indeed - with some imaginative use of staging to represent the ship, the pub and the island at different points of the story.
Yesterday it was our sports' day at school. We helped set out and test the activities in the morning and organised the team sheets. Then, straight after lunch the equipment was put out in the correct positions and all the children came out for the sports. We had a good afternoon of fun, exercise and competition with just a couple of showers (which were not quite heavy or long enough to send us in).
Today we had our Family School's Music Festival. Seven schools too part and we enjoyed a wide range of different musical performances from choirs to solo instrumental pieces. There was an orchestra including players of five different instruments, there were ukuleles, infant and junior singing groups and choirs, and a medley of songs from a musical. In addition, we all joined together for two songs which we had all learned (Sing a Rainbow and I can see clearly now). We also learned together a Warm up and Stomp Canon.
