17th and 18th April

In maths, we have reviewed the work we did on the practice calculator paper. We have done our corrections and practiced the types of questions that we found most difficult.

We have done some more writing in English, this time concentrating on extended description. We have been trying to do this whilst ensuring we still structure our work well and produce a text which is engaging for the reader.

We spent some more time revising our science and, this afternoon, after our Friday English and maths, we did some more water colour painting. Today we began painting trees. We looked at some trees in the environment, thinking about the proportions of the trees (in terms of the trunk and the canopy) and also noticing that tree trunks only very rarely look brown! We practiced a style of painting trees and then began placing some of these on our landscape backgrounds.
