3rd and 4th March

We developed our geography project about a planning proposal by having a visit to the nearby site, which is just along the road from our school. We walked down to the field and measured the site, both using metre wheels and by estimating using pacing. We also measured the distance of the site from the road. Since the proposal is to build a new supermarket, we also measured the distance to the nearest existing supermarket. We will use this information in our report about the proposal.

In literacy, we have carried on with our "arguments" working on counter-arguments and concluding paragraphs. We have also been using our success criteria to help us evaluate our work while in maths, we reviewed work on rotation and inverse operations before moving on to work on fractions today.

We had a special science activity on Monday afternoon in which we had to do a series of tests (observation: colour, texture; reaction with water; reaction with acid) on a set of different powders to solve a mystery. (It was quite like CSI!) This was fun as well as helping us to think more about reversible and irreversible reactions.
