17th to 21st December
The last week of term has come to a close and our Christmas holidays have begun.
During the week we have continued with our maths work, reviewing many of the areas that we have covered this term, and we have also finished some of our journalistic writing. We did some more work on our science topic on light but have spent even more time thinking about light in our RE topic. We have considered the symbol of light in the Jewish celebration of Hanukkah, discussed the symbolism of the Christingle and studied a series of paintings of the annunciation - making notes about the content of the pictures, the underlying meanings of the representations as well as the media and style that the artists had employed in creating their pieces of art.
Our last week included some special activities including carol singing at an old people's home near our school, our Christmas parties on Wednesday and Thursday and a short carol service at the end of the afternoon today.

School re-opens on Monday 7th January 2008.
