22nd and 23rd March

We tried another practice Maths test on Thursday and, in English, returned to consider argument and discussion texts. This time, we are linking our work to a short geography topic about a local planning proposal. One of the forms we will be using for our writing is that of a newspaper report and so, in our literacy lesson, we looked at examples of discussions in newspapers, examining them for balance and use of connectives and quotations. In connection with this work, we have also done some fieldwork, creating a sketch map of the area affected by the planning proposal. We also had another cricket session in PE, this time concentrating on fielding skills.

Today, we had our usual Friday English and maths sessions. In the afternoon we reviewed some of the homework we did last week and, after our admin., we did some more water colour painting. This week's focus was to explore the effects of using different "key colours".
