19th to 21st March
We have been finishing off our unit of work on suspense stories. We have used our "success criteria" sheets to analyse and improve some of our own work and written a final story based on our "time travelling" experience at Southwell Minster.
In maths we have been thinking about problems based on ratio and proportion challenges and also some involving the interpretation of pie charts.
We have also been trying to make progress with our science topic. We have thought about how animals and plants are adapted to their normal habitats (learning, for example, about the shapes of birds' bills and relating these to the kinds of foods they take and where they feed) and we have now moved on to consider microbes and their role in rotting and decay.
Our ICT work on spreadsheets has been going well. This week we created an automatically totalling class register which also produced a graph to show attendance rates.
