15th and 16th March
We had a fantastic visit to Southwell Minster yesterday as part of the Minster's Time Travelling project. This is an annual event run for Key Stage 2 pupils and is a great experience.
When we arrived at the Minster, children from all the schools gathered outside and were then led in procession into the nave where we were welcomed and then sang some of the songs. The rest of the morning and afternoon was spent in a series of 20 minute activities in different places around the Minister. We did drama in the Great Hall, looked at the stories represented in the stained glass windows, learned about communion, heard about the work of the Children's Society, heard about Fair Trade, learned how to do some sign language, studied a statues which hangs high about the nave, looked at some of the beautiful carvings in the Quire, dressed as choir boys....and many more! At the end of the day every school was given a lovely candle to take away.
Today we followed up our visit as well as having our usual Friday English and maths lessons.
