9th to 11th November

We have planned a story in English, using the story structure that we have been considering, and then we wrote the story - trying to make sure that we used a variety of sentences and some good description. In maths we have been thinking about time. Some of us have been improving our ability to tell the time, others have worked on the 24 hour clock and everyone has tackled some maths problems based on time.

We have done some more work in history about air raid precautions and the way they affected people's lives. This time we have been thinking about the blackout using pictures, posters and documents from the time as well as other text. We have had some more time to investigate electrical circuits, reminding ourselves of factors which affect the brightness of a bulb.

We had our Friday English and maths groups and they did a little art (using cartoonists techniques to suggest movement) before having our first singing session looking at some songs ready for our Christmas concert.
