We have continued our English work on story writing. On Wednesday we concentrated on examining the sentence structures we have been using. We did this by using a checklist to "mark" a story together - identifying sentences starting with proper nouns, pronouns, possessive pronouns, verbs, adverbs and connectives. Then we marked our own writing to see if we were using a good range of sentence starters. Today in our writing, we finished the stories we have been creating and then, again, looked at the ways we had begun our sentences.

In maths we did some work on translating shapes (on a grid which also helped us practise our coordinates) and also did some work on converting measures (such as changing metres to centimetres or kilometres, grams to kilograms and vice versa).

We have also begun our new science topic on electric circuits. So far we have created concept maps to show what we already know about electricity, revised how to make circuits and use symbols to represent electrical components and drawn circuit diagrams.

We have had parents' evenings this week.
