29th and 30th November

We have done some more work on division sums in maths turning first to calculations which involve numbers with decimal places and then problems presented in words. Today we tried a mixture of calculations and then worked on a method of doing sums which involve multiplying a three digit number by a two digit number.

In English we have started work on biographies and biographical writing. Together we looked at and annotated the text of a biography about Edvard Grieg then we worked with a partner to highlight the key features of biographies on a text about the life of Martin Luther King. Today, in English, we did some comprehension work on a biography of Matthew Webb (the first person to swim the English Channel) and then used notes to create a paragraph about his life.

We went to the hall this morning to use the space to bounce light off a mirror and track its path - relating the way light bounces off the mirror to the way a ball bounced off the mirror. Then we went back to class to do some more practical work in our groups.

We had our Tuesday PE, French and handwriting lessons and today we also had a PSHCE discussion in preparation for our next School Council meeting.
