28th November
In maths today we focused on division calculations, first ensuring that we could all do the basic processes, including "carrying" and handling remainders. Then we looked at some calculations which had "missing numbers" before some of us tried some problems presented in words.
We concentrated on finishing off our "Anderson Shelters" report in our time in the computer room, making sure that our paragraphs we well constructed and the opening paragraph was clear. We also spent some time checking the layout of the text and pictures on.
We looked back out our English homework from a couple of weeks ago in literacy. This was the playscript writing task where we had produced a script from a short story. Today we worked on trying to make the scripts more exciting and clearer to the audience by creating dialogue from ideas in the narrative rather than just using the direct speech from the original story.
Starting with the words from some Christmas carols, our RE lesson helped us think about the ideas of light and dark in relation to the Christmas story. We highlighted lines from the carols which had something to do with light or dark and then thought about the religious meaning of some of the ideas.
