21st November

As the new week began, we started new units of work in English and maths and completed one in science.

In English we started thinking about biographical and autobiographical writing. We started by looking at a passage from Roald Dahl's autobiography, Boy - Tales of Childhood, and did some comprehension work on this text. We continued thinking about biography when we had our ICT session, looking at the biography of Chris Bonington and using it to create a time line representing key incidents and activities in his life.

Our maths topic this week focuses on mental methods of addition and subtraction and today's work concentrated on adding and subtracting "near round numbers" and the value of using number-line jottings.

We finished off our science work on electric circuits by revising some of the key ideas. We also did a puzzle sheet and completed a review test to check what had been learned.
