31st January
We began some work on shape in maths today, thinking about symmetry in regular and irregular two dimensional shapes. The main work was to test the idea that the number of lines of symmetry in a regular 2-D shape is the same as the number of sides.
We had our DARE lesson and did some more work on spreadsheets in the computer room. This week we looked at writing some more functions and using copy and paste to fill in columns with the same formula and therefore speed up the creation of a spreadsheet.
We continued with our science work on sound, thinking more about how to change sounds on string instruments and then we discussed the planning of fair tests to investigate these factors (making sure that we only changed one factor at a time).
