26th and 27th January

Continuing our work on narrative poetry, we have been tracking some of the characters and their actions through the story and have also prepared and then performed parts of a poem.

In maths we have thought about how fractions can be related to division sums and also practised doing written multiplication and division sums. Today we looked at decimal numbers and placing decimal numbers and mixed numbers on a number line.

In science we built a giant violin - starting with a piece of string - and found out what else we needed to do to it in order to allow us to hear it play. The children also worked in pairs to make a rubber band guitar and they investigated how they could make higher and lower notes with the bands. We also did some atlas work in geography and played bench-ball in PE.
