14th January

In English we looked at the features of good "non-chronological reports". We annotated an example (about eyes) taken from an encyclopedia, highlighting aspects of the text organisation (including the way the text begins and the use of sub-headings) and the language features (including types of verbs).

In maths we practiced our times tables on a multiplication grid and solved some maths puzzles in which we had to the make different (large) numbers by adding, subtracting, multiplying and/or dividing numbers from a set we had been given. (This was a bit like the numbers game on Countdown.)

This afternoon we did some art, adding some finishing touches to, sketching and evaluating the project we did last half term on textiles.
